Earlier Saturday, hundreds of speedo-wearing runners descended down Lark Street from Madison Avenue to Spring Street and back for the 16th annual Santa Speedo Sprint. The sprint, an annual fundraiser for The Albany Society for the Advancement of Philanthropy (ASAP), was held concurrently with the Lark Street Business Improvement District (BID)’s Chili Chowder Stroll – now in its fourth year.
The proceeds from the sprint, which this year totaled $21,000, will benefit the Albany Damien Center and the HIV/AIDS programs at Albany Medical Center.
The winners of the chili and chowder competitions were:
Judge’s Choice: El Mariachi (chili), The Copper Crow (chowder); People’s Choice: Adanis Kitchen (chili), TapAsia (chowder)
