Rocking on the River this past Wednesday in Troy was a makeup date for a previously cancelled performance. “Soul Sky” – featuring Mark Emanation, Joe Mele, Jeremy Walz, Jeff Prescott, and Tom Dolan – was the opening band, and kicked things off with some rocking blues that had the crowd dancing.

The headliner for the night, “Kiss The Sky,” is billed as the world’s greatest Tribute to Jimi Hendrix, and features Columbia recording artist Jimi Bleu.

Kiss the Sky showcased music from three of Jimi’s most famous shows – Woodstock, Monterey Pop, and the 70’s Band of Gypsies. They use authentic costumes and music equipment that Jimi used in the ’60s.

There will be one more makeup date to round out the Rocking on the River series: Sunday, Sept. 8, featuring BalĂșn, Dark Honey and Laveda.
