If you have not yet made it the the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail for a summer ride, be sure to do so. Between Lyons Park in Niskayuna and Kiwanis Park in Rotterdam, you will find more than beautiful wildflowers and picturesque views of the Mohawk.
At various points on that portion of the trail, you will find inspirational and artistic posters. These are part of the Color the Canal exhibit, a collaboration between the Friends of the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail and CREATE Community Studios. This project began last year before the Cycle the Erie Canal Bike Tour, where hundreds of riders rode through Schenectady County on the trail.
Despite that cycling event being canceled this year due to COVID-19, the posters were still created and displayed for those who use the trail to enjoy. Many of the messages on the posters offer words and images of hope, inspiration, and encouragement… all things that are needed during this time of social distancing.
The posters will be up through summer.
