The Clinton Street Merchantile, a Schenectady-based retail incubator featuring eclectic vendors, has announced it will open a second location on Lark Street in Albany.
The retail incubator is owned and operated by Brandon and Michelle Whittall. The Whittalls opened the 4,500 sq. ft. Schenectady location to “give vendors a place to sell their wares, refine their product line and develop customers before graduating to their own retail locations,” according to a Times Union article from their Nov. 2018 opening.
CivMix has reached out to the Clinton Street Merchantile for the specific location on Lark Street. More when we find out.
Update (1:30 p.m.): the new location will be 262 Lark Street – the former location of the Lark St. Flower Market and now Lark Hall. Lark Hall is owned by Justin and Jennifer Miller, along with Redburn Development’s Jeff Buell. Redburn is the property owner for the Mercantile’s Schenectady location. (h/t Alyssa Lotmore).
You guys! We told you we had a big announcement so here it is!
This past year we’ve learned a lot & have seen much success at The Merc as have our vendors. 3 have or will be leaving full time jobs to pursue their small business, 3 have or will be opening their own stores, 1 will be renovating a warehouse space that will serve as a showroom/workspace for their biz… our passion really is empowering small business because we believe that a rising tide raises all ships! We are excited to continue to help small businesses in 2020!
As a result, we will be opening a SECOND location this spring! We are so excited to be bringing The Merc to Lark St in Albany!!
We’d love for you to follow us @larkstmercantile to get all the updates and on Facebook larkstreetmercantile
And yes, we are taking vendor applications for the new space – just head to the website to fill out an app if you’re interested. The Lark st space is much more intimate so vendor spaces are limited so get those apps in and stay tuned for updates and progress pics!
