What kinds of gifts do you plan to give this year?
“I’m passionate about non-profit organizations that give back to children in need, children in foster care or those who are homeless. Many of these kids have no gifts at the holidays, so each year I get wish lists for a group of kids and then go shopping for them. On a personal note, I always have to figure out what the hot gift is for the year, which is getting harder and harder now that my kids are older.”
What kinds of gifts would you like to receive?
“I tend to be the kind of person who takes care of others and puts myself last, so I love gifts that have R&R in mind, that force me to take time for myself. I don’t really need things, but gifts that have stress relief in mind, like a spa day, or even a vacation, those mean the most to me.”
What is the most memorable gift you have received?
“Many years ago, when the kids were little, my husband got me some sort of a kitchen item. That only happened once.”
Is there a charity you would like to highlight?
“I would love for more people to know about the work Northern Rivers Child and Family Services does. They serve several counties to support families and children in need. Some of these kids are saved by their life changing care.”
What is your wish for the new year?
“Health. I find that among my friends, the annual update letters in the holiday cards are getting more depressing each year, with people passing away, getting diagnosed with something, or other issues. It’s the old saying: ‘If you don’t have your health, you have nothing.'”
