From going down the rabbit hole to the glamour of Old Hollywood, Capital Masquerade – comprised of a team of local professionals in support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities – announced this year’s event will dive into the “glitz and glam” of the 1980s.
Taking place on Friday, Oct. 25 at the Schenectady Armory Center. the Masquer80’s Ball, according to organizers, will “(celebrate) the peak of the MTV era.”
Previous themes have included the Mad Hatter’s Ball, the Streets of London, and the Silver Screen.
“We are thrilled to present our fifth Capital Masquerade Ball inspired by this iconic decade,” said Kate Otis, co-chair of Capital Masquerade. “Our team is extremely proud of our history of epic event production, fundraising and helping to spread awareness of The Ronald McDonald House Charities. This year’s event will be an exciting, classy, and epic trip down memory lane with surprises that you won’t want to miss.”
According to organizers, since the first Capital Masquerade event in 2015, more than $460,000 has been raised to support the mission of RMHC.

General admission tickets are $150, with VIP at $200. Guests with VIP access will be allowed a 7 p.m. entry, with general admission guests at 8 p.m. A limited number of discounted early bird tickets are available using the promotional code ROCKON.
